Zoho Books pricing 2026: what each plan actually gets you
Six tiers, priced per organization rather than per user. Most freelancers and small businesses land on Free, Standard or Professional, and the jump between them is decided by inventory rather than by headcount.
Free under $50K. Then $20, and $50 once you hold stock.
Annual billing takes roughly 20% off every paid tier. Everything above Premium exists for businesses that already know why they need it.
01All six tiers
Each tier includes a set number of users and an annual invoice limit. Extra users cost $2.50 to $3 per user per month on any paid plan, which is often cheaper than moving up a tier just for logins.
| Plan | Price / month | Users | Invoices / year |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | 1 + accountant | 1,000 |
| StandardMost popular | $20 / $15 annual | 3 | 5,000 |
| Professional | $50 / $40 annual | 5 | 10,000 |
| Premium | $70 / $60 annual | 10 | 25,000 |
| Elite | $150 | 10 | 100,000 |
| Ultimate | $275 | 15 | 100,000 |
The free plan requires annual revenue under $50,000. That threshold is gross revenue, not profit.
02What each plan adds
Free
$0Available for businesses earning under $50,000 USD per year. Covers invoicing up to 1,000 per year, expense tracking, bank reconciliation, a client portal and core reports for one user plus accountant access. A strong starting point for solo freelancers testing the platform before committing.
Standard
$20/month · $15 billed annuallyThe entry-level paid tier. Adds 3 users, up to 5,000 invoices per year, recurring expenses, predefined user roles and a broader set of reports. Suits freelancers and solo operators who have outgrown the free tier but do not yet need inventory or advanced automation.
Professional
$50/month · $40 billed annuallyThe mid-tier plan and the one most product sellers end up on. Adds 5 users, purchase orders, sales orders, project expense tracking, inventory tracking and multi-currency handling. Product sellers should also review the wider ecommerce seller software stack around inventory, orders and marketplace operations.
Premium
$70/month · $60 billed annuallyAdds 10 users, custom reporting, more advanced automation, budgeting tools, a custom domain and a higher contact ceiling. Suited to growing businesses with more reporting needs or larger teams.
Elite and Ultimate
$150 and $275/monthHigher tiers for businesses needing advanced inventory control, warehouse management, serial and batch tracking, or advanced analytics at scale. Most small businesses never need them.
Nothing about company size moves you from Standard to Professional. Holding stock does.
03The free plan in detail
The free plan is genuinely useful for freelancers and very small businesses earning under $50,000 per year. It covers invoicing up to 1,000 invoices annually, expense tracking, bank reconciliation, a client portal and core reports without a subscription fee. No time limit, no credit card required.
- The $50,000 threshold is based on gross annual revenue, not profit. Once you cross it, you must upgrade.
- Only 1 user plus accountant access, so no team collaboration.
- Some automation features are not available.
- Inventory and purchase orders are not included.

|---|---|---|---|
| Standard | $20 | $15 | $60/yr |
| Professional | $50 | $40 | $120/yr |
| Premium | $70 | $60 | $120/yr |

One of the few genuinely free accounting plans left.
Full double-entry accounting at $0 under $50K revenue is a combination few competitors offer. The Standard plan at $20 a month covers most freelancer and solo operator needs below what most competitors charge for the same depth.
The jump to Professional at $50 makes sense once inventory or purchase orders enter the picture, and not before.
